Cascadia '10 is the echo of Afrobeat in the Pacific Northwest with sound resonating from Lagos to Seattle. A small army of experienced musicians brings this hypnotic rhythm straight to your hips and feet. Several members of C'10 also perform in; Marmalade, Soul Senate, & Fascination Nation; and have performed in Swamp Mama Johnson, Altered States of Funk, Sly Lothario, SuperKali & FCS North.
Opening for international acts such as Sierra Leone's Refugee All-Stars and Garaj Mahal, Cascadia '10 is enjoying putting the Emerald City on the world music map. The songs of C'10 are original pieces but find their inspiration in the rich legacy of Fela Kuti, Femi & Seun Kuti, Tony Allen, and the wellspring of music throughout western Africa.
They are currently playing various NW venues and annual events including The World Rhythm Festival, Folklife, Fremont Solstice Fair, The Comet Tavern, Nectar and a monthly residency at the Seamonster Lounge where you can find them having fun bringing their twist to the Afrobeat style. With this many horns, guitars and big funky rhythm section, a C'10 show is definitely one for the dancing shoes!
